Recommended 7 seater minivan drives Germany
Germany is blessed to have many dense forests and astounding scenic drives. Rivers, lakes, mountains, deep forests, castles of history, and everything in between. Germany is truly a special and unique country that is like nowhere else on earth. Germany is also home to great food, even better beer, and even more great food! You’ll certainly eat and drink your way through this country. With streets and avenues built long before the discovery of America by the Western World and traditions that date even further back – you’ll have no time to spare with such a busy itinerary. We have compiled a list of our favourite drives and things to do in Germany, so let us walk you through some great places.
The Black Forest:
The Black Forest in Germany’s best view is from route 500 on the Schwarzwald Hochstrasse. Start your drive in Knibes and finish the journey in Baden-Baden, which is one of our favourite routes. This secluded stretch of forest will surely help you appreciate the vast nature that Germany has to offer. However, any place is as good as any to enjoy nature in Germany. The Black Forest and the tales surrounding it are very popular, so make sure you grab a Brothers Grimm book before having a read! This leads us actually to our next road. Make sure to stop and see Lake Titisee!
The Germany Fairy Tale Route:
This trip starts in Hanau in central Germany and ends in Bremen in the north. A lot of the route in this is focused on the infamous Brothers Grimm. Along this route, you can find a lot of the places they lived and worked, as well as crafted their timeless stories. Along the drive, you actually journey through eight nature parks, including Hoher Vogelsberg Nature Park and the Weser Uplands Nature Park. A lot of these places have a significant connection with the stories from the Grimm brothers. Don’t forget to stop in their birthplace of Hanau, or the Snow White village: Bad Wildungen
The Romantic Road:
If things that are grim aren’t your thing, try the Romantic Road for lovers instead. This 350km road stretches between Würzburg and Füssen at the bottom of the Bavarian Alps and is home to many medieval towns. Here you can see the world famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Since it’s completion in 1892, over 61 million have visited it. That’s an average of 6,000 people per day. It was also the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Driving a minivan in Germany
Most people believe the roads in Germany are made for speeding, but the police certainly do not. Inside built-up areas, the speed limit is 50 km/h while outside busy areas it is 100 km/h. The infamous Autobahn in most places has speed limits of 130 km/h, but generally have no speed limits. The ability to drive a car under control is all that is important. In rural areas, watch out for wildlife, as it may pop out suddenly in front of the car and cause an accident. Drinking and driving is illegal in Germany, even if the beer tastes good.
